The Eco Tiffin Air Drain utilises natural evaporation to efficiently reduce excess moisture that often builds up in external walls. Unlike conventional methods that merely address the symptoms, the Air Drain targets the core issue by enabling moisture to evaporate before it penetrates the masonry. This proactive approach helps prevent dampness and the resulting damage.
REDUCE COLD BRIDGING
The idea for the Air Drain emerged during our thermography training and through hands-on experience conducting building surveys. We repeatedly observed cold bridging—areas of significantly low temperatures—at ground floor wall junctions, particularly in older, pre-1990s, and heritage buildings, which were often damp.
While there are established methods for addressing most cold bridging issues in a property, no solution existed to naturally prevent the root causes of dampness and cold bridging at the floor-to-wall junction until the development of the Air Drain.
EASY TO INSTALL
The installation of the Air Drain is non-invasive to the existing structure, and no other product on the market serves this specific purpose, which is why it is patented.
By enhancing the path of least resistance, the Air Drain promotes natural evaporation of moisture and the movement of harmful ground gases, such as Radon, around the property. This is particularly effective in buildings with suspended or solid floors constructed before 1965, especially where most external areas are paved.
